A synopsis!

June 2014Jon finds Jason and Nikki Wynn’s Gone With The Wynns‘ website. We’re both sort of smitten by both how professional and how adorable they are. We are inspired into plans and actions.
June 2014: We spend 9 hours on a Saturday travelling up and down I-25 north of Denver looking at TONS of motorhomes from $20,000 to $450,000 figuring out what is on our Must Have list, and what we can live without.
July 2014: We spend another weekend looking at RVs, travel trailers, and 5th wheels. We mostly decide that travel trailers and 5th wheels are out. If we’re going to drive from here to there, we’d rather not do it from a pickup truck.
August 2014: We attend the Colorado RV Show and Sale. Still more ideas.
September 2014: Jon and Audrey’s first Adventure! YARR! We realize we’ll need a car, or possibly two motorcycles and two bicycles, but that the cats will adapt to their new home within a couple of days. We currently plan on keeping our day jobs through 2015, buying whatever coach we can afford, and wintering in Denver in it.
October 2014: I buy a 2005 Four Winds Hurricane 30F with 76 days left on our apartment lease…the two of us start preparing to make the transition from apartment life to RV life.
November 2014: We get the RV settled in at Skylark Mobile Home and RV Park in Lafayette, CO.
November 2014: We survive a 100 year record cold snap. The interior of the YarrVee dips down into the very low 40’s, despite the RV furnace at 55, and a 1500 watt radiant heater running 24/7. Nothing appears to have broken.
December 2014: Audrey and I can’t resolve some of our relationship differences after 2.5 years of working on them, and it becomes apparent that living in an RV together will be…not good. Audrey moves into an apartment near her job at the University of Colorado: Boulder. Very sad times for both of us, as what was “our grand adventure” becomes “my grand adventure”.
December 2014: I leave my job of 12 years with the City and County of Denver, and take a 6 month contract position as a Service Now Developer with 100% remote work.
January 2015: Denver -> Aurora -> Amarillo -> Dallas -> Houston -> Tallahassee -> Starke -> Wildwood
February 2015: Wesley Chapel -> St. Petersburg -> Venice -> Tierra Verde -> Seffner -> Deltona -> Green Cove Springs -> Gainesville ->
March 2015: Sopchoppy, FL -> Apalachicola, FL -> Panama City, FL -> Fort Walton Beach, FL -> Bay Saint Louis, MS -> New Orleans, LA -> Lafayette, LA -> Houston, TX -> Austin, TX ->

I hope you’ll join us for the continuing journey – it’s All the Adventure, None of the Scurvy!
